While it was Jamaican producers like King Tubby and Lee 'Scratch' Perry who developed dub reggae, in the 1980s the UK would become the centre of innovation, as London-based studio wonks Mad Professor and Adrian Sherwood pushed the genre to the outer limits. Sherwood founded the On-U Sound label in 1981, and it became a home for the likes of African Head Charge, New Age Steppers and Tackhead – as well as Japan's own Audio Active. The latter band will be accompanying Sherwood for this 30th anniversary gig, which also features sets by Ao Inoue, Kuranaka 1945 and others.
