Once a haven for serious, chin-strokey Scandinavian post-jazz, Norway's Smalltown Supersound label has started to have fun over the past few years: it's now home to chirpy '60s-style girl band Razika, Pitchfork-approved pop singer Annie and Japan's own Nisennenmondai, among others. Perhaps their weirdest signing is Mungolian Jetset, who cloak their cosmic disco shenanigans in the kind of elaborate costumes and cod mythology beloved of The Residents and KLF. The group are hitting Japan in the run-up to the launch of sophomore (or is their third?) album Schlungs, accompanied by Todd Terje, Diskjokke and DJ Strangefruit on the decks.
