It's been two decades since Chris Liebing snagged his first residency at a club near Frankfurt, though it took him a couple of years to ditch the soul and hip-hop in favor of techno. The ever-grinning DJ and producer celebrated the 10th anniversary of his CLR Recordings label in 2009, and has seen his hard-edged style of techno come back into vogue in a big way recently. He shouldn't have any problems winning the crowd over at Womb, where he's the special guest at local techno doyen Takkyu Ishino's monthly Sterne party.
