Sub-Culture Tokyo

Tokyo gets a dose of Shanghai sub-bass this weekend, as the city's polyglot Sub-Culture crew make their inaugural visit here for a free Sunday evening bash in Shibuya. The music ranges from Downstate's narcotic ambient-trap – not all that removed from the work of voguish producers like Holy Other or Evian Christ – to Hamacide's bass-heavy instrumental hip hop and Red-I's futuristic dub(step) workouts. Also keep an eye out for Kode9 collaborator (and Red Bull Music Academy alum) ChaCha, who'll be performing under her spooked-out Faded Ghost alias.
