Returning for its sixth (and, unfortunately, last) edition, Amnesty International's semi-annual film festival uses a mix of documentary and fiction to highlight a range of contemporary human rights issues. The 2017 programme includes films from Syria, the US, Belgium, the UK, Germany and Japan, plus a few screenings that are in English or shown with English subtitles: Andrew Morgan's documentary The True Cost (Jan 28, 1.30pm), which explores the global impact of the 'fast fashion' industry, and The Collaborator and His Family (Jan 29, 4.05pm), an Israeli-Palestinian story that follows an Arab father who collaborates with Israeli security – with grave consequences for his family.
