Toshimaen Ice Rink

The old-school Toshimaen amusement park provides a curiously apt setting for Tokyo's largest outdoor ice rink, which will be open from December 15 until March 3. There are free lessons for beginners, and you're free to enter and leave as many times as you like – perfect if you want to grab a bite to eat or check out the park's Christmas illuminations before returning to perfect your Mao Asada routine. The rink stays open until 8pm throughout December, and until 7.30pm at weekends (see the website for a schedule).
