Not to be confused with the Scottish indie trio of 'Kandy Pop' fame, BiS are in fact one of the many 'alternative' idol groups to have sprung up in the wake of AKB48. While much of their oeuvre is every bit as generic as you might expect from one of Yasushi Akimoto's myriad spawn, the quintet managed to ingratiate themselves with the indie music scene on their way to scoring a major label deal with Avex, and have pulled some pretty the outlandish stunts to date. Debut single 'My Ixxx' featured the members running 'naked' through a forest, while their forthcoming full-length, titled Idol is Dead, embraces the kind of screamy metal you'd expect from a visual-kei act. BiS's upcoming solo show at Akasaka Blitz will feature the same guillotine used in the 'Idol is Dead' vid, and they're looking for volunteers to stick in it... for the entire show.
