She's the hunched-up sprite in sloppy makeup, mashing a pair of rudimentary samplers while squawking Showa-style melodies over the top. She is, in short, the queen of our hearts. Arch electro-primitivist Doddodo is heading to town with a few friends from Osaka to mark the release of her latest album, due out on May 11. We've no idea what to expect from the record, titled simply Do: its creator has shown some odd tendencies over the last few years, not least a desire to place her far-from-tuneful voice in pared-back musical settings. Fingers crossed that she leaves the acoustic guitar at home for this upcoming trip (and we honestly wish she'd done the same with support act Oshiri Penpenz, though not to worry).
