Nothing says 'rock' like a music festival organised by a major record label, right? Right? EMI Japan rallies together some of the more guitar-centric acts from its roster – plus one notable overseas guest – for a day of music at Saitama Super Arena this weekend, repeating a format used to celebrate the label's 50th anniversary in 2010. It'll be one of the last shows that Shiina Ringo-fronted rockers Tokyo Jihen play before they split up, and you can also look forward to appearances from the likes of 9mm Parabellum Bullet, Kazuya Yoshii, Acidman and Straightener. Perhaps to address the sense of over-familiarity, EMI have also invited former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, who'll doubtless be amused to discover how profitably his old band's back catalogue has been mined by newcomers Akai Ko-en, also playing. See below for the complete lineup.
