They were one of the highlights at this year's Fuji Rock, where their nerve-shatteringly intense Sunday evening set made pals Mogwai look downright insipid in comparison. But for all their penchant for hardcore dynamics, screaming and walls of guitar noise, Envy also have a soft side: witness their choice of electronica songstress Caroline – last seen opening for the considerably less fearsome Her Space Holiday – as their support act.
