Time Out says

We'll never forget the time we saw Filastine playing an impromptu DJ set outside Koenji Station, as part of activist Hajime Matsumoto's anarchic campaign for the local elections (he didn't win, sadly). Such antics come naturally to this ghetto bass agitator, a former cab driver whose politicised, club-ready jams draw on the diverse influences absorbed during his trips around the world, from Moroccan drumming to Indonesian gamelan, cumbia to Brazilian carnival. Following on from his appearance at Club Asia last weekend, Filastine heads to the more intimate Pool for a set with Javanese vocalist/activist Nova Ruth, who featured on last year's Loot album. Striplight-wielding noise musician Atsuhiro 'Optrum' Ito supports.
