Though they boast an impressive lineup – The Thing's Mats Gustaffson on baritone sax, Tape's Johan Berthling on bass and Wildbirds & Peacedrums' Andreas Werlin on drums – Swedish supergroup Fire! didn't initially seem to deliver on their considerable promise. That changed with last year's sophomore album Unreleased?, recorded live over two nights in Tokyo with help from local resident Jim O'Rourke. Fire! will be returning to town this week to recapture some of that record's slow-burn intensity, with O'Rourke joining them for the occasion, plus support from prog-jazzers Mouse on the Keys and skewed rock combo Skillkills.
Fire with Jim O'Rourke also play at Lush on May 11
