Born and raised in Brixton, the now London-based Gaika Tavares plays an eclectic mix of dancehall, grime, garage and hip hop that's dark, brutal and political but also highly danceable. Spaghetto, his late-2016 EP on Warp Records, made many stand up and take notice of this exciting newcomer, who says he makes music 'at an industrial pace' and isn't afraid to explore those unlikely surfaces where hip hop has yet to tread. In support for Gaika's Japan debut will be fellow genre annihilators Seiho and Foodman.
