Time Out says

The daughter of a pair of classical Indian vocalists, Kaushiki Desikan (nee Chakraborty) didn't take long to reveal her own musical talents: by the age of two, it was clear that the family had another prodigy on their hands. The singer's first gurus were her own parents, but she would later become a disciple of the tabla player Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, and today is widely recognised as one of the foremost young(-ish) vocalists in classical Indian music, capable of live performances that are nothing less than hypnotic. For her Tokyo debut, she'll be accompanied by Subhasis Bhattacharya on tabla and Ajay Joglekar on harmonium.

This event is part of the Sukiyaki Tokyo festival. See also: Omara 'Bombino' Moctar, Aug 22; Amazigh Kateb, Aug 24
