Keiji Haino

For over a decade, psychedelic explorer Keiji Haino has bid farewell to the old year with a gruelling all-night performance at one of his regular Koenji haunts, Showboat. It comes as a slight surprise, then, to discover that the permanently sunglassed multi-instrumentalist will be forgoing the late-night shenanigans this year in favour of a show that kicks off at the more civilised hour of 4.30pm. Don't expect any concessions regarding the length of the performance, though: the venue's website states merely that it's 'expected to finish by 10pm'.
