Last year's Pieces of Me album was her most successful to date, but Ledisi's generic material has often felt frustratingly wan compared to her undeniable powerhouse of a voice. At any rate, she's likely to put on a formidable show when she appears for two nights of gigs at the Billboard, backed by a seven-piece band.
