Leon Russell

Veteran session musician and songwriter Leon Russell had vanished into obscurity when Elton John – who'd cited him as an early influence - approached him about a collaboration. The resulting album, 2010's The Union, went to #3 in the US album charts, and Russell was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the following year. Well, better late than never.
