As Grouper, Portland musician Liz Harris uses guitar, organ and primitive tape loops to sculpt ambient drone-scapes that demand deep contemplation. It's almost too perfect, then, that the first date of her joint Japan tour with US drone duo En should be getting held in – wait for it – a temple. The afternoon 'Live at Yougenji' gig is shaping up to be rather special, with additional sets from meditative singer-songwriter Ichiko Aoba and Tokyo-based electro-acoustic duo Illuha. Deep.
