Over a career spanning a quarter of a century, Maso Yamazaki has spewed forth some of the most bracing statements issued by the Japanese noise scene – and also the briefest. As Masonna, the Kansai native unleashes intense, frequently violent solo performances that are sometimes over in a matter of seconds. Though he'll be appearing without any support at this 25th anniversary 'one-man live' gig, don't expect him to draw things out for any longer than necessary: a similar show in Osaka earlier this year lasted for just under two-and-a-half minutes (or about ¥13 per second). If you want to get your money's worth, turn up when the doors open at 7pm to hear a set of vintage acid and psych records picked by Yamazaki himself.
