That Mergrim is a popular chap. The Hyogo-born, Tokyo-based electronica producer and composer (born Takahisa Mitsumori) has recruited an impressive cast of musicians and knob-twiddlers to help mark the release of his lush, richly textured sophomore album, Hyper Fleeting Vision. Berlin's Subheim is a last-minute addition to a bill that already included homegrown producers such as Agraph and Aus, as well as proggy ensemble Henrytennis and ambient DJ Ametsub, plus a bevvy of Progressive Form label mates in the second room. Mergrim himself will be performing in a 13-piece group featuring live strings, vibraphone, drums, piano and vocal contributions from the likes of Cokiyu and Cuushe, plus VJ accompaniment. The perfect Sunday soundtrack, in other words.
