Nakasu Block Party

Musical polymath Yuichi Kishino runs monthly 'convenience store DJ' events along the Sumida River along with a group of like-minded local spinners, but now steps out of the konbini to take over a small riverside park under the elevated Metropolitan Expressway. Held on the eve of the Nakasu Bon Odori festival, this block party will see a ragtag bunch of DJs fire away folk-tinged tunes like minyo and kayokyoku (Showa-era pop) throughout the afternoon.
