The Surrey-born songsmith with the ginger dreadlocks, Newton Faulkner has done a good job of wooing Japanese listeners: 2009 album Rebuilt by Humans featured a collaboration with Keigo 'Cornelius' Oyamada, and its creator went on to perform with J-pop warhorses Dreams Come True in that year's NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen show. Now on to album number three, Write It On Your Skin, Faulkner will be hitting Tokyo for a follow-up to the weekend's surf-themed Greenroom Festival in Yokohama.
