As Dave Konopka from Battles told us recently, Nisennenmondai 'fucking rule.' The all-female trio are steadily refining their brand of stripped-down hypno-rock, using guitar, bass and drums to make soundscapes more redolent of DFA disco and minimal techno. Catch them at a special event organised by eyewear brand Effector (the Japanese title of the gig literally translates as 'My Specs are Burning'), alongside 'brutal orchestra' Vampilia, folk singer Yuasawan and jazz-influenced indie act Nhhmbase. Turn up sporting Effector glasses and you'll get a free drink.
