Though Parisian producer Onra started out making straightforward, Dilla-esque LA-style beats (think Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder ilk, minus the experimentation), he upped his game around 2010, veering into a cozy niche of glossy '80s-inspired synth R&B jams. The formula – perfected on the Fundamentals album released last year – is sure to get your head bobbing when Onra hits Circus together with like-minded artists like JJJ, Budabrose and Watter.
