Owen

Music runs in the family for Mike Kinsella, who's played alongside brother Tim and cousin Nate in key Illinois bands Joan of Arc and Cap'n Jazz. As Owen, he prefers to go it alone, playing bittersweet, maudlin songs that occasionally recall Iron & Wine's Samuel Beam. For the first date of his 2012 Japan tour, in support of recently released album Ghost Town, he's joined by singer/guitarist duo Ropes and singer-songwriter Aoki Laska, both of whom promise to keep things in a similar vein to the main act.
