PiL

After the flatulent spectacle that was the most recent Sex Pistols reunion, it was hard to feel optimistic about John Lydon's decision to resurrect his other notable band. However, Public Image Ltd. have been turning in some impressive performances since they returned to the live circuit in late 2009. Lydon's vocals remain as nerve-shredding as ever, while the rest of the group (guitarist Lu Edmonds and drummer Bruce Smith were in a late-'80s incarnation of PiL, while bassist Scott Firth is a newbie) manage to sound even more pummeling now than they were in their heyday. Though the band are also playing at Summer Sonic over the weekend, this extra show would be a better bet for dedicated fans, since PiL won't be having to play a truncated set.
