Beards will be stroked, solos will be long and time signatures will be very complicated indeed as the annual Progressive Rock Fes returns to Hibiya's outdoor amphitheatre this weekend. This year's headliners are Goblin, the Italian noodlers best known for their countless horror movie soundtracks, who'll be returning to Japan after playing their first-ever shows here last November. They're joined by British prog survivors Van der Graaf Generator and the underrated Barclay James Harvest (in the John Lees-led incarnation of the group, rather than the rival outfit helmed by Les Holroyd), both of whom are also playing shows of their own at Club Citta beforehand (details here and here).
