Rovo x System 7

Formed in 1996 by Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto and violinist Yuji Katsui, Rovo have steadily developed a reputation as one of Japan's finest live dance bands. Propelled by a pair of drummers, their music is a seemingly endless headrush of swirling psychedelics, with Katsui's effects-drenched fiddle soaring high above the mix. Steve Hillage of British ambient techno act System 7 first saw the band at a festival in 2002 and was mightily impressed, though it wasn't until a couple of years ago that he was able to meet them in person, leading to this present collaboration. The Phoenix Rising Tour comes in support of a mini-album of the same name, and will see these two groups of psychedelic voyagers join forces for an epic session.
