A cappella sextet Take 6 will be playing a Valentine's Day gig with the New Japan Philharmonic at Sumida Triphony Hall next week, but you can catch them in their element at Blue Note this weekend. The group's shows leap from church songs to jazz standards (with the odd Michael Jackson tribute along the way), performed in bravura close-part harmonies that crib techniques from gospel, doo wop and even beat-boxing.
