Nerd rap, move over: it's twee-hop time. We totally missed Love and Hates' debut album when it came out last December (really, who in their right mind releases an album in December?), but it was love at first listen. The group – pairing Miila and the Geeks' Moe and Hazel Nuts Chocolate's Yuppa, plus a long list of collaborators – supply some of the most off-kilter girl-rap we've heard since the first Halcali album, resulting in a musical Marmite that's either going to delight you or make you want to kill every cardigan wearer in sight. The Love and Hates release party features many of the guests from the album, including beatboxer Afra and indie stalwart Hideki Kaji, plus touring girl band The Suzan and a DJ bill headed by Twee Grrrls Club.
