The New Mastersounds

They may hail from Leeds, but this instrumental quartet are clearly in thrall to the sounds of New Orleans funk. Fans of The Meters will doubtless appreciate The New Mastersounds, a group so infectiously groovy that nobody complained when they ended up playing twice at this year's Fuji Rock Festival. They'll be playing a pair of shows at Club Quattro this week, in support of new album Breaks From The Border.
