Ethereal and crushingly dense at the same time, Tim Hecker's is some of the heaviest ambient music around. The Montreal-based musician has been crafting his vast catacombs of sound for over 15 years now and has received widespread acclaim in Japan since debuting here back in 2013. 2016 album Love Streams, which incorporated choir vocals and brass instruments, was highlighted by Pitchfork as one of the year's '20 Best Experimental Albums', and fans can now get another taste of Hecker's immersive live show. Back in Tokyo after a three-year break, he'll be taking on WWW X for a Wednesday evening gig, with the audience limited to 400 eager listeners. Best get your tickets well in advance for this one.
