V-Rock Festival 2011

Buoyed by the recent X-Japan revival, the visual kei scene is in a healthier state than it has been for a while. Witness the resurgent V-Rock Festival, which debuted to much fanfare in 2009, only to take the following year off. It's worth turning up early for the 2011 edition in order to catch Gackt's new band, Yellow Fried Chickenz, while former Hanoi Rocks vocalist Michael Monroe and LA glam rockers Black Veil Brides will be filling the obligatory 'foreign guest artist' slots later in the day. Elsewhere, you can expect all kinds of histrionic floncing by Versailles, Girugamesh, Mucc and many more – but can anyone tell us what the hell Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is doing here?
