Time Out says

In an age when big-name DJs play two-hour sets in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai in the space of a single weekend, it's hard to appreciate the talent of a guy like Larry Levan. But in the late '70s and early '80s, he turned New York's Paradise Garage into the hottest club in the entire city, cranking out epic all-night sets that eschewed fancy mixing techniques in favour of an immersive journey that'd get people dancing for hours on end. Though Levan died in 1992 at the age of 38, his legend has endured, with tribute parties held around the world – including Tokyo – practically every year. This one at Contact sees Paradise Garage co-founder David DePino and fellow veteran spinner Joey Llanos pay their respects, along with a local contingent that includes DJs Jommy, Remi, Kaji and Ren.
