From drum 'n' bass to broken beat to wide-eyed soul and astral jazz, production unit 4hero have travelled a fair distance in the course of their 25-year career. The duo's Dennis 'Dego' McFarlane would start his own 2000Black label in 1998, focussing on nu-jazz and groove-based music, with last year's album The More Things Stay the Same making for an essential statement of his eclectic style.
