Though Parisian producer Onra first started out making straightforward Dilla-esque LA-style beats (think Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder ilk, minus the experimentation), he upped his game around 2010, veering into a cozy niche of glossy '80s-inspired synth R&B and hip hop jams. The formula – perfected on the Fundamentals album released last year – is sure to get your head bobbing. Kawasaki's young gun JJJ is also set to take the stage tonight at Circus.
