Secretbox feat. Beppe Loda

Aoyama's homely Zero welcomes eminently influential Italian spinner Beppe Loda for the latest edition of its retro-biased Secretbox night. Through his work at clubs like Typhoon and Cosmic in the '80s, Loda pioneered what came to be known as the Afro sound, a swirling, psychedelic stew of synth material, African and other world rhythms, progressive rock and jazz, disco and plenty more. It's a sound that still resonates today – more than 30 years after its heyday – and has earned its originator a place in the figurative Hall of Fame of club culture. Should be a cracker.
