Time Out says

Cross Shinjuku Vision building in Shinjuku, famed for its super realistic giant 3D cat on a high-tech billboard, gets a swanky café by Sarutahiko Coffee. The first floor is a casual takeout spot with fruity frappuccinos (from ¥480) that come in berry, mango and chestnut flavours, in addition to two types of black coffee (from ¥450).

If you head downstairs, you’ll find a kissaten-style café where you can relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. The coffees here (¥1,400 each) are all refillable and come in four different roasts - French, Ethiopian, Brazilian and Kenyan.

While you sit and sip, you’ll want to check out the food menu, too. The thick slab of toast (¥800) with whipped butter goes well with a cup of black coffee, but the towering parfaits are undoubtedly the highlight of Cafe Pastet. Go for a tropical mango and pineapple parfait (¥2,000, ¥2,800 with unlimited coffee) with layers of pineapple frappe, mango, vanilla pudding ice cream, mango banana ice cream, crumbled cookies, coconut meringue, coconut chantilly cream, and a decadent passion fruit caramel sauce. Or try a berry pistachio parfait (¥1,800, ¥2,600 with unlimited coffee) featuring baked cheesecake, pistachio ice cream, raspberry ice cream, berry compote, caramelised pistachio, a macaron and fresh raspberries.

Even if it didn’t have a giant 3D cat outside, this café would be popular. We recommend making reservations online since there are only 20 seats. And no matter how much you want to, you can’t stay forever – there’s a 100-minute time limit for each customer.
