Some like their ramen hot, while others prefer theirs so fiery that they can hardly feel their tongue afterwards. If you belong to the latter category, consider checking out this new Shibuya joint, launched by 'ramen researcher' Hayato Ishiyama. His creations are so diabolically blistering that Ikkakuya promises to provide glasses of milk for slurpers unable to withstand the heat. The ramen here is flavoured with Trinidad Scorpion Butch Taylor chilli, one of the hottest peppers in the world and a former Guinness World Record holder, and the shop even has a counter with individual partitions – all so that you can really concentrate on battling your bowl.
