Available from September 1, this afternoon tea (¥5,445) at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo’s lobby lounge Le Jardin revolves around the premium green tea grown in Uji, Kyoto. The menu is designed in collaboration with long-established Kyoto-born tea shop Tusji Rihei Honten.
Look forward to sweet and savoury dishes infused with different types of green tea. There’s a sencha (green tea) jelly, genmaicha (green tea with roasted rice) egg tart as well as a kabusecha (mild green tea) souffle cake. On top of the 15 black tea options that are available at all times, the lounge is now offering three additional Ujicha teas for this occasion. If you opt for the special afternoon tea plan that includes a welcome drink (¥6,050), you’ll get to enjoy a glass of premium Ujicha matcha, of which only 4kg are harvested every year.
