As the 36,000 runners taking part in Sunday's Tokyo Marathon make their way through the city, they'll be greeted by everything from taiko drumming to cheerleaders, brass bands and some rousing singing by the Breast Cancer Survivors' Chorus. The aptly named Tokyo Big Marathon Festa centres on the Ariake area, close to the race's finish line, though look out for performances at various points along the course, including Shinjuku, Shiba and Asakusa. There's a complete list and map (in Japanese) available for download here.
