Jean Paul Gaultier's 'Fashion Freak Show' premiered to critical acclaim in Paris and is now embarking on a tour, including a stop in Tokyo during the spring of 2023. This unique production combines elements of a revue and a fashion show to create a visually stunning spectacle that draws inspiration from Gaultier's life and career as a legendary French fashion designer.

Since its debut in 2018, the show has captivated over 250,000 spectators and counting, showcasing 50 years of Gaultier's pop culture influence. Gaultier himself directed and designed the show, which features more than 200 of his original couture pieces.

The performance begins with Gaultier's childhood and moves on to highlight his fashion debut in 1976. On top of revisiting collaborations with celebrities such as Madonna, Rihanna, and Pedro Almodovar, the show explores fashion through the decades and is accompanied by iconic songs that inspired Gaultier's work.

Note that this production is unsuitable for children, as it contains sexual content. If you are 16 or older, however, you won't want to miss this extraordinary production while it is in town.
