Discover a lesser-known aspect of Japanese culture at the ‘Love Nippon! Edo Kiriko Sakura Festival 2019’, held at Tokyu Plaza Ginza. It’s an appropriate setting for this event as the building’s facade is, in fact, inspired by edo kiriko itself, a traditional Japanese glass-making method that involves cutting different patterns directly onto cups and bottles.
As is the case with previous festivals, this year will also feature the latest edo kiriko works by skilled artisans from around the country. You can try your hands at creating your own edo kiriko at the workshop, or start your own collection by buying directly from the artisans who are hosting their own exhibitions at the festival.
