Time Out says

A legendary moment in samurai lore is commemorated each December, as Tokyoites gather at the graves of the 47 Ronin and the master whose death they avenged. You've probably heard the story before: of how a group of loyal vassals in the early 18th century waited a year to exact revenge on the perfidious Lord Kira, the man responsible for their master's death. The Gishi-sai is held on the anniversary of the famous attack on Kira's mansion, and features a parade of volunteers dressed as the 47 heroic samurai. Well worth checking out once.
