Gundam Winter Light-Up

If you're looking for an alternative to the usual Christmas illuminations, Odaiba's DiverCity is giving its 18m Gundam statue a festive makeover during December. The monolithic robot will be festooned with LEDs from December 1-25, and there'll be screenings every half hour between 4.30pm and 9pm, featuring a cartoon Gundam santa. Coolest of all, if you've got the Gundam Area Wars app installed on your iPhone, you can use the magic of AR to conjure up a virtual Zaku mecha to pose alongside the real-life statue in your photos. Because let's be honest: you're going to be taking photos, aren't you?
