Time Out says

A great chance to see some of the biggest names in the world of traditional Japanese theatre work together, kyogen play 'Ayu' premieres at the National Noh Theatre in December. Based on the eponymous short story by poet and essayist Natsuki Ikezawa, it was adapted and choreographed by genre-crossing kyogen star Mansai Nomura, who will also be playing the lead role. A 21st-century reimagining of traditional comic theatre, this one should be enjoyable even if you aren't a connoisseur of the genre. The performances will be subtitled in both English and Japanese.
