The Japan Paella Association (yes, it's a thing) is hosting this paella party at Mabashi Inari Shrine in Suginami. As the biggest event of its kind in the country, the summit is set to attract a crowd of saffron rice connoisseurs to witness the National Paella Competition on Saturday from 1pm, as well as the Japanese preliminary round of the International Paella Concours on Sunday at 10am.
Look forward to parades as well as flamenco and fire dance shows. On Sunday, you can watch paella being made in a three-metre wide saucepan, with sampling sessions starting at 2.30pm.
The event takes place from 12noon to 9pm on July 30 and from 9am to 7pm on July 31.
