Sankeien Iris Festival

Hydrangeas tend to hawk most flower-watchers' attention during the rainy season, but the iris, appreciated and cultivated in Japan for centuries, is also well worth observing when the wettest month of the year rolls around. Yokohama's Sankeien displays a wide variety of these white and purple beauties over six days, with every day seeing different specimens on show.
