Shibuya's classic 'Drunkard's Alley' boasts bars, bistros and quirky shops right by the station, providing a taste of bygone times just a stone's throw from some of Tokyo's busiest areas. Rumoured to be on the list of blocks to be torn down to make way for some new concrete monstrosity as part of the area's ongoing 'redevelopment', Nonbei Yokocho is best experienced at this annual autumn festival, which packs everything from jazz performances to mikoshi parades, in addition to special offerings of food and drink at virtually all of the alley's eateries.
