Sunshine City’s annual Okinawa Mensore Festa has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, so organisers have turned it into an online spectacular with performances being live-streamed on YouTube every evening from 8pm.
Until June 7, you can watch a variety of Okinawan culture from the comfort of your home, including sanshin (a traditional Okinawan three-stringed instrument), dance, and drum performances.
The event’s website also provides some traditional Okinawan recipes for you to re-create while enjoying the diverse programme.
